For the third year since the Great Plains Audio Fest relocated to Dallas, audio enthusiasts, music lovers, DIY hobbyists and audio gear manufacturers gathered for a weekend of listening, sharing, tall-tale swappin’, beer drinkin’, Tex Mex eatin’ good times.
Taking place at the Embassy Suites Hotel at 13131 N. Central Expressway in Dallas amid what seems like 100’s of high school soccer players, soccer Moms and soccer Dads, this veteran regional show is open to anyone who wants to show up and listen - free of charge! There is no surcharge for people who set up systems either; one simply rents a room and sets up a system. This allows individuals and local clubs to exhibit at the same level of expense normally associated with attending a show.
Embassy Suites makes this particularly easy and cost-effective as each room, err, suite, has a front living room and a rear bedroom separated by a door. It’s kinda like sleeping over the store: you wake up in the morning in the back, clean up your act, head downstairs for the complimentary buffet, go back upstairs and fire up the music in the “living room.” Easy peasy.
